Celebrations are underway at Tong Leadership Academy after its pupils achieved excellent GCSE results, which have helped them to secure their first choices on the next step of their education journeys.

Many pupils have chosen to continue their education in Tong Leadership Academy’s sixth form, including Steven Navey who achieved 8 GCSEs and a Distinction in BTEC Sport.  Steven was delighted to achieve grade 8s in GCSE English Literature, History and RE. He said “I’m very happy with the results.  I just had to run outside and tell my mum who was waiting in the car park!” Steven will continue his studies in the sixth form at Tong Leadership Academy, where he will study A Levels in History, Maths and a science.

Sophie Bannister achieved grades 9 and 8 in science and grade 8s in dance, history and maths. She said “I’m really pleased with my results. I was a bit scared, but they are fantastic results.  My mum is really emotional about them”. Sophie is going to Leeds City College to study Sports Exercise and Science

Maisie Lumb, who achieved five grade 9s, said, “I’m still shaking! I am in a bit of shock, but I am really pleased with the results.” Maisie will continue her studies at Greenhead College in Huddersfield, where she will study Maths and Computer Science.

Saif Hameed achieved 8 GCSEs including a 9 in English Literature and a Distinction* in BTEC Sport, both the highest grades. He said, “I did really well – I didn’t think I would get a grade 9 in English Literature!”

Together, their hard work and dedication has delivered fantastic results, which will give our pupils a strong foundation for their future successes.”
