Travelling to the

ACADEMY

Car

Parking is available for parents/carers who drive pupils to and from the Academy. Parents must park in the school grounds in the designated car park and not on any of the surrounding roads.

Walking & Cycling

For those who prefer pedal power, there are cycle racks to secure their bikes until home time.

With health and reduced carbon emissions in mind, we always encourage pupils to walk to the Academy, if the distance is manageable.

Bus

The Generation M website provides full details of the bus routes that serve Tong Leadership Academy, and the associated timetables.

Priority Pass Application Form

Existing pupils can apply to renew a priority pass online by clicking here.  This link will take you to the Metro bus application site.

New pupils can download an application form for a priority pass by clicking here.

School Bus Service

Details of the bus routes can be found here.  The service numbers are T1, T2 and T3.  Students wishing to travel on the school service will need to apply for a yellow bus pass.  The pass can be applied for on the GenerationM website found on the link above.  If you have any queries, please contact Mr Seale who will be more than happy to assist with any concerns.

School transport disruption due to bad weather – information and advice from Bradford Metro

Bus operators work hard to maintain their services as circumstances allow, but decisions must be taken by them on health and safety grounds to ensure the wellbeing of their customers and staff. In the event of bad weather, the driver of the vehicle needs to consider whether it is safe to carry out the whole route or part of the route.

Advice for parents and carers during bad weather

  • In the event of bad weather, parents or carers are advised to visit the Metro website or check the @metrogenm twitter page to find out if their service is running.
  • The Academy will send a text message to families to advise of any known travel disruption.
  • If pupils live on a minor road, parents or carers should advise them to wait on a main road for a bus as buses may not be able to travel down minor roads that have not been cleared or gritted.
  • For public buses, please also see the Travel disruption page.
